The Clarke Trio, winner in the senior division of the UConn Chamber Music Festival juried competition, will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 26, at Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts as part of the Husky Headliner series. The Trio's members, all graduate students of Dr. Kangho Lee, include violinist Daniel Lee, cellist Carlynn Savot, and pianist Sarah Masterson. The program will include works by Beethoven, Clarke, Schoenfield and Ravel.

Daniel S. Lee performs as a violinist, violist, and conductor in repertoire ranging from the 12th to 21st centuries. Following his 1999 Carnegie Hall debut as a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, he appeared as a recitalist, chamber musician, and guest concertmaster, sharing stages with such musicians as Peter Oundjian, Itzhak Perlman, and Pinchas Zukerman. As the music director of the Albano Ballet, the artistic director of the Sebastian Chamber Players, and the choir director of the New Haven Korean Church, he has worked from the podium with instrumentalists, singers, and dancers. He has received degrees from the Juilliard School and Yale School of Music and is currently a graduate assistant at UConn, where he is pursuing his doctoral studies.

Carlynn Savot holds a master's degree in performance and Suzuki pedagogy from the University of Hartford and a bachelor's degree in performance from St. Olaf College, where she served for three years as principal cellist of the St. Olaf Orchestra. At the Hartt School of Music, she won the Miami String Quartet Competition, performed at Best of Chamber Music recitals, and was principal cellist of the Hartt Symphony and Opera Orchestras. As a member of the West End String Quartet, Ms. Savot has participated in the Ives Vocal Marathon at Wesleyan University and the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival. Strongly committed to encouraging the next generation of performers, she teaches at the Hartt School Community Division and at UConn's Community School of the Arts while pursuing a doctoral degree in performance.

Sarah Masterson received a bachelor's degree from DePauw University, and a master's degree in performance from the University of Connecticut. As the winner of the 2001 Young Artist competition, she performed with the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra. She was a soloist with the DePauw Symphony Orchestra, accompanied a variety of recitals and musical Theater Productions, and took the stage in DePauw's annual Music of the 21st Century festival. Ms. Masterson is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in performance at UConn, teaches private students at the Community School of the Arts, and is the organist at the First United Methodist Church of Mansfield, CT.
