Spuyten Duyvil Brings American Roots Music and to The Sounding Board Coffeehouse
On May 13TH, acclaimed folk festival favorites Spuyten Duyvil (pronounced "SPITE-en DIE-vul") bring their infectious, original spin on American roots music and alternative folk rock to West Hartford. In 2016, their CD, "The Social Music Hour Vol. 1", received an International Folk Music Awards' "Album Of The Year" Nomination.
They kick off their 2017 season with a fresh round of re-imagined traditional songs and their new International Folk DJ Top 20 single "The Warmth Of Other Suns". Borrowing novelist Richard Wright's phrase and paying homage to Isabel Wilkerson's (http://isabelwilkerson.com/) thought provoking, timely and moving book of the same name, this inspiring song of resistance is available as a free download.
