Playwrights On Park Reading Series Presents WHEN COLOSSUS FALLS By Eugenie Carabatsos
Join Playhouse on Park in designating the Greater Hartford area as a premiere destination for the cultivation of innovative theatrical work! The Playwrights on Park Reading Series was created for this very purpose, and our next evening in this exciting series is Tuesday, February 27 at 7:30pm with Eugenie Carabatsos' When Colossus Falls.
When Colossus Falls weaves a tale of mystery that will captivate audiences! The Riverview B&B hasn't seen a guest in ages. When one finally arrives, the inhabitants' lives are thrown into a tailspin as they try to figure out who she is, why she's there, and what she's doing walking through the rubble from a burned down building across the street.
Eugenie's plays have won the Kennedy Center Harold and Mimi Steinberg National Student Playwriting Award, the Trustus Theatre Playwrights Contest, the Mountain Playhouse Comedy Writing Competition, the Venus Theatre Festival, and the University of Tulsa's WomensWork Competition. They have been produced by Trustus Theatre, iDiOM Theatre, and South Park Theatre, as well as in a number of festivals and development programs, including the Great Plains Theater Conference. She graduated with her MFA in Dramatic Writing from Carnegie Mellon University in 2016 and received her BA from Wesleyan University in 2010.
The mission of Playwrights on Park is to produce original plays and musicals, therefore fostering emerging and established playwrights. Each reading features a new work, where audience members participate in a talk back session with the playwright, director and cast members. Audience members are also provided with response cards at the end of each reading. Additionally, there is a talkback segment featuring the Playwright and cast after each reading.
