MY MOTHER'S ITALIAN, MY FATHER'S JEWISH AND I'M IN THERAPY Hits Long Wharf Theatre 8/5-9
By: Reynard Loki
Long Wharf Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Managing Director Ray Cullom, presents My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish and I’m in Therapy, written and performed by Steve Solomon, from Aug. 5-9 and 19-30 on the Mainstage.
Steve’s two-time award winning My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish & I’m In Therapy has met with rave reviews and great audience acclaim throughout the country; and became one of the longest running one-man shows in Broadway history. Described by Variety as a cross between Don Rickles, George Carlin and Billy Crystal, Solomon introduces audience to people that they are all too familiar with – the family members that make them remember why they left home in the first place. He shares nuances into the personalities of the dozens of characters audiences will meet along the way. Case in point: Steve’s sister, “The Smoker.” The, “She can do no wrong in the eyes of Mama…..” sister. The, ”Why can’t you get good grades like your sister?... sister. The, “How come she cleans up her room so nice and you can’t?”...sister.
