The Hartt School Composition Department, with special guests CONCORA (Connecticut Choral Artists, Richard Coffey, director,) presents a unique event - CONCORA Sings New Music by Hartt Composers - on Saturday, April 2, at 8:00 PM in Wilde Auditorium on the University of Hartford campus, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford. CONCORA, the state's leading professional choral organization, performs premieres of seven new choral works by Hartt composers Eunseok Baek, Feng-Hsu Lee, Noah Kaufman, Daniel Morel, Benjamin Park, Steven Serpa, and James Stewart. These young composers come from a wide range of backgrounds, nationalities, and aesthetics. Their music is fresh, inventive, and diverse.

This concert presents its singers in a 12-voice chamber choir formation, in both accompanied and a cappella works. A number of CONCORA'S singers have strong affiliations with The Hartt School, and the accompanists are Hartt alumna Cheryl Casola and Hartt student Jee Huyn Kim.

This concert is part of an annual series featuring professional ensembles performing works by emerging composers, sponsored by Hartt alumna Amy Feldman Bernon.

The Hartt School is the comprehensive performing arts conservatory of the University of Hartford that offers innovative degree programs in music, dance, and theatre.
