Hartt Community Division Presents Spring Dance Festival, 6/12-14

The Hartt Community Division dance program presents its Spring Dance Festival in four performances – Friday, June 12, at 7:00 PM; Saturday, June 13, at 2:00 PM and 5:30 PM; and Sunday, June 14, at 3:00 PM.  All performances occur at Hoffman Auditorium at the Carol Autorino Center, Saint Joseph College, located at 1768 Asylum Avenue in West Hartford. Tickets are $15 general admission and $10 for youth under 18 years of age, and are available at the Lincoln Theater box office on the University of Hartford campus.  For additional ticket information call (860) 768-4228 or visit http://harttweb.hartford.edu/performance-boxoffice.htm.

The Saturday, June 13 performances feature the youngest dancers (ages 3 through 10) in the program, performing in a special circus-like theme and is entitled – Under the Big Top.  The June 12 and 14 performances feature upper level intensive ballet students.  The program includes classical ballet repertory from Don Quixote, Coppelia, Swan Lake and Pas de Quatre, staged by Community Division dance chair Miguel Campaneria. In addition, new works of modern dance have been created for the performance by Community Division faculty members Lorelei Chang and Leslie Maietta.

The Hartt Community Division offers a comprehensive program that trains dancers from the earliest stages of development through their entry in the post-secondary and professional worlds.  On the campus of the University of Hartford, the Community Division is a comprehensive community arts school providing instruction in music and dance for individuals of all ages and experience levels.
