Part of Westport Country Playhouse's Family Festivities series.

Tickets are still available for Theatreworks' production of Charlotte's Web, based on E.B. White's loving story of the friendship between a pig named Wilbur and a little gray spider named Charlotte. This treasured tale, featuring mad-cap and endearing farm animals, explores bravery, selfless love, and the true meaning of friendship.


Ailey II - A Benefit Performance
Saturday, March 6, 8PM

Presented by, and for the benefit of, Bridgeport's Music and Arts Center for Humanity.

This is a rare opportunity to enjoy an Alvin Ailey performance -- and to support a very worthy local cause, Bridgeport's Music and Arts Center for Humanity (MACH) - providing arts education to Fairfield County children at-risk and those with special needs for over 30 years.

Ailey II, directed by Sylvia Waters, is one of world's most popular modern dance companies, This performance is scheduled to include: The External Knot, When Dawn Comes... and Divining.


V-Day Westport 2010
presents Vagina Monologues

V-Day Westport 2010 is proud to present its inaugural event, a benefit performance of Eve Ensler's award winning play The Vagina Monologues. This marks the coming together of women from all walks of life, some actors, others activists, some first time performers to raise funds and awareness to end violence against women and girls locally and globally. Guest performers include New York Times best selling author Jane Green, novelist and screenwriter Dani Shapiro, Host of Channel 8's "Connecticut Style" Desiree Fontaine, with more luminaries to be announced.

The Vagina Monologues will be directed by Jill Jaysen of the award winning Center Stage Theatre Company.

Doo Wop & Rock 'n Roll Concert

Playhouse Script in Hand Series
Harvey by Mary Chase
Monday, March 22, 7PM, $16

Westport Country Playhouse presents the second reading of its Script in Hand series.

Harvey is the Pulitzer Prize-winning classic comedy about a man and his best friend Harvey, an imaginary 6-foot tall rabbit.

The movie adaptation of the play featured James Stewart (pictured here), and Steven Spielberg has signed on to do a remake of the play as his next project.


Ballet Etudes
presents Sleeping Beauty

Saturday, March 27, 1PM & 4PM

The Ballet Etudes Company returns to The Playhouse with a new production of the enchanted fairy tale ballet, Sleeping Beauty. This production will feature principal dancers from the American Ballet Theater plus a cast of 60 local dancers. Set to Tchaikovsky's magnificent score, this timeless ballet is staged by Christina Fagundes, after Petipa's original choreography. Opulent costumes from the former collection of American Ballet Theatre are complimented by elaborate set pieces and scenery, contributing to the magic of this delightful ballet. This 90-minute adaptation is family friendly, for ages 5 and up.


Are You My Mother?

Part of Westport Country Playhouse's Family Festivities series.

At long last, Baby Bird emerges from her shell and expects to be greeted by her mother's song. But her mother is not there. Where is she? Why isn't she home? With the help of Dog, Cat, and Hen, Baby Bird sets out in search of Mother Bird in this colorful musical adventure based on P.D. Eastman's whimsical and well-loved picture book.


DMA HeArt & Soul Benefit Concert

A Downtown Merchants Association (DMA) event to benefit for Save the Children.

Join film and TV actress Melissa Joan Hart and her husband, musician Mark Wilkerson at The Westport Downtown Merchants Association presentation of Band Together #16 "HeArt and Soul" to benefit Save the Children. The event will showcase a variety of rock and soul classics performed by 20 of the area's top musicians with a guest performance by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Ronnie Spector.
