The Ridgefield Playhouse offers an amazing variety of shows in the new Broadway/Cabaret series underwritten by Ridgefield Magazine. From one man theatrical performances to musicals to comedy- there is really a wide variety of what you can see in this series. For example, coming up on November 5th enjoy improvisational comedy at its best with Capital Steps- just in time for Election Day! As part of the Ridgefield Magazine Broadway/Cabaret Series and the Clark Construction Comedy Series, Capitol Steps will put the "mock" in democracy, as they skewer Republicans, Democrats, red states and blue states, with hilarious send-ups and satire on the current political climate. See their return performance at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, November 5 at 8 p.m. Sponsored by the League of Women Voters, these comedic actors will be sure to "trump" last year's performance starting at 8pm. There will be a special pre-performance reception for all Rotary Club members at 6:30 in lobby as $1 per ticket is being donated to The Ridgefield Sunrise Rotary Club. All patrons can visit Steakhouse Cellar Door (439 Main Street, Ridgefield) for dinner before the show and receive a complimentary glass of house wine or draft beer and dessert with your entrée when tickets are presented. The Media partner for this event is 91.1fm WSHU.

In addition to great improv, the Broadway Cabaret Series also has amazing music. Shows such as the Hit Men on November 13th, which features original members of Frankie Valli & The 4 Seasons, Tommy James and the Shondells, The Critters, Cat Stevens and more, hearkens to the success of the Broadway show "Jersey Boys"; and on January 22nd you can hear all of the music from the hit show "Tommy, The Musical" with a Ridgefield Playhouse original production "The Who's Tommy: A Concert". The series also has a great Cabaret aspect to it as well with stars such as Darlene Love and her show " A Darlene Love Christmas: Love for the Holidays" on November 22nd, Donny Osmond and his show "The Soundtrack of My Life" on March 11, Betty Buckley Live in Concert on May 7th and more. And of course some amazing one man shows such as "An Evening with Groucho" on March 19th and "Say Goodnight Gracie" on April 29th. And a newly added element to the series- speaking with some of the icons of Broadway, such as Joel Grey on February 19th and Stephen Schwartz on April 2nd.

Comedy, music, dance, and drama- it's all in the 2015/2016 season of The Ridgefield Magazine Broadway/Cabaret Series.
