8-Track: The Sounds of the 70s In Concert returns to Bridgeport's Downtown Cabaret Theatre for an extended stay opening Friday, April 19 and continuing on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through May 12 (2013).

With its propulsive rhythms and dazzling harmonies 8-Trackis a fast-paced musical romp through one of the most impassioned decades of the 20th century. Presented completely in song, four rock-solid singers deliver the heart and soul of the forgotten decade with a fascinating interweaving of music that is joyously rousing, moving, and often downright hilarious.

Described as 'the soundtrack of our lives,' 8-Track: The Sounds of the 70s conceived by Rick Seeber, gives everyone an opportunity to re-discover the forgotten decade! Audiences will remember how good it felt to wear polyester...leisure suits and flowered shirts, halter tops and wrap-around skirts and platform shoes and then boogie-ing on down memory lane to ten years of ground-breaking music of The Emotions, The Carpenters, LaBelle, Barry Manilow, Marvin Gaye, The Doobie Brothers, The Bee Gees, Helen Reddy, K.C. & The Sunshine Band - and so many many more.

The cast includes New Haven natives Teddey Brown and Nik Rocklin along with Tonya Phillips Staples and Liana Young

When 8-Track: The Sounds of the 70s first played Downtown Cabaret Theatre a number of years ago, the Connecticut Post called it "Letter-Perfect! Even for those who do not recall the music of the '70s, were never fans of The Bee Gees or the Doobie Brothers, this excellent show is a wildly-exciting revelation." Detroit's Oakland Press called 8 Track"Rousing...Mesmerizing...Rock-solid...Downright Hilarious!" and went on to call it "A funny and often eye-opening musical excursion through the sonic landscape of the 1970s."
