On May 15th, The Ivoryton Playhouse is celebrating its 99th birthday with a thigh-slapping, wing-ding of a country style birthday party! "Kick up Your Heels Centennial Kick Off Party" will be held at Doane's Airport Hangar in Centerbrook and will feature entertainment by the cast of "Some Enchanted Evening" and dancing to the classic country sounds of "Gunsmoke".

Committee Chair Sally Mayer was inspired by the auction of picnic baskets in the musical "Oklahoma!" "I always thought that this would make a great theme for an event and what better event than the 99th birthday of the Ivoryton Playhouse which has featured so many of these great American musicals on its stage."

The celebration will include cocktails and dinner, which will be provided by many of the areas top chefs and caterers and packed into delightful picnic baskets. There will also be a theatre themed auction with prizes that include a night in NYC and tickets to Broadway shows. Auctioneer will be Joe Connolly of WCBS and The Wall Street Journal.

Participants are also invited to a free dance lesson before the event to brush up their Texas Two Step and Tennessee Waltz! Tickets are $125 per person and all proceeds benefit The Ivoryton Playhouse. For more information, call (860) 767-7318.
