José Alberto Justiniano, known as El Canario, is a prominent tropical music singer born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with a 50-year career spanning salsa, son, guaracha, bolero, merengue, vallenato, and mambo. He has collaborated with influential Latin artists including Celia Cruz, Johnny Pacheco, Tito Puente, and Gilberto Santa Rosa, and has earned 15 Gold and Platinum Records, three Latin Grammys, and two Hispanic Heritage Awards among his many accolades. Known as El Showman de la Salsa, he has released 27 albums and performed on stages around the world. El Canario performs as part of the free, family-friendly Festival Latino 2026 presented by Honda.
