Roots Through Ruin, presented by the Y-Haven Theatre Project and Cleveland Public Theatre, explores the journey of individuals confronting their pasts as they navigate the challenges of recovery from substance use disorder, homelessness, and incarceration. Set in an abandoned house, the play delves into themes of hope and redemption, showcasing the authentic stories inspired by the performers' real-life experiences. Directed by Melissa Crum and Nicole Sumlin, the cast includes participants such as Jordan Baker, Naeema Batin, and Ezequiel Soto. The production reflects over 25 years of collaboration between CPT and Y-Haven, aiming to give voice to powerful narratives of resilience and personal triumph.
