Mozart’s fiery Piano Concerto No. 20 presents the perfect occasion for The Cleveland Orchestra to welcome back frequent collaborator Emanuel Ax, praised for his “immaculate command and insight” (Sydney Morning Herald). Also returning to Severance is conductor Pablo Heras-Casado, who leads the Orchestra in Shostakovich’s tragic and thrilling Tenth Symphony, often interpreted as a postmortem reckoning with the horrors wrought upon the composer’s homeland by the Stalin regime.
