The Women's Committee of The Cleveland Orchestra Presents THE LEGACY OF LEV ARONSON, 8/13

The Women's Committee of The Cleveland Orchestra is proud to present their summer benefit, "The Legacy of Lev Aronson", with Cleveland Orchestra Cellist Brian Thornton . This exciting benefit will be held on Wednesday, August the 13th, 2014 at The Mayfield Sand Ridge Club in South Euclid.

There will be a Reception at 5:30, a Performance at 6:30 and Dinner at 7:30

Ticket levels : $150, $250, $500

This program, featuring exquisite works by concert cellist Lev Aronson, was written and will be performed by Brian Thornton as a powerful and passionate tribute to the brilliant teacher who was his mentor for so many years.

" As a young burgeoning cello soloist in Latvia during the 1930's and 1940's, Lev Aronson, a Jew, was forced to survive in concentration camps during the German occupation of Latvia. After spending time in several concentration camps he escaped, immigrated to America, established himself anew as a concert cellist and eventually became a highly influential cello instructor. "
