Playhouse South, A Community Theater will hold open auditions for Neil Gooding's "Totally Awesome Musical" on September 7-9, 2009 at 7:30 pm at the Clark Haines Theater, 3700 Far Hills Avenue in Kettering.

From the era that brought the world the Rubik's Cube, Max Headroom and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, comes a musical with over 20 original hits from the eighties including Footloose, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, You Give Love a Bad Name and many more. Come and join the graduating class of William Ocean High School as they survive and thrive in their senior year, experiencing fun, heartbreak, love and growing up... all set to the biggest hits of the 80's. Back to the 80's tells the story of the senior class as remembered through the eyes of Corey Palmer, who is now thirty-something.

There are several adult roles and many young adult roles. Auditioners are asked to prepare a 1-2 minute pop or rock song from the 1980's or a Broadway song in a pop style. Be prepared to dance and do cold readings from the script. Performance dates are November 6-23, 2009.
