Michael Feldman's WHAD'YA KNOW to Return to Ohio This Month

By:

Michael Feldman's wildly popular public radio program, WHAD'YA KNOW, returns to Ohio one last time on his "Farewell Tour", broadcasting live April 23 from Playhouse Square's State Theatre. (The audience is asked to arrive by 10 am when prepping will begin for the live broadcast.) Earlier this month Feldman announced that the show is going off the air after 31 years. His last broadcast will be June 25.

Special guests At the Playhouse Square performance will be: Dr. Oz's buddy and wellness specialist Dr. Michael Roizen of the Cleveland Clinic, plus the queen of 'Rust Belt Chic' -- writer Anne Trubek as well as audience participation.

Heard locally each Saturday at 11 am on 90.3 WCPN ideastream, Fans of the show know that the live audience is an integral part of Whad' Ya Know? as host/quiz-master Feldman invites contestants to answer questions drawn from his seemingly limitless store of insignificant (but somehow important) information. (The prizes are as offbeat as the questions!)

The show also features special guests, unconventional interviews and opens with Feldman's "All The News That Isn't," a brief monologue filled with his entertaining brand of political and social satire. The line is often blurred as to who is having the most fun...Feldman or the audience! Feldman also adds the local flavor to his banter at each of his shows. (He does his homework, preparing a month in advance by reading all the newspapers of the town he's set to bring the show to.)

Only eight times each year has Feldman, 66, pried himself away from Madison, Wisconsin (home of WHAD'YA KNOW) to take his show on the road for broadcasts across the country. The April 23rd State Theatre appearance marks the second time Feldman has broadcast his show from Playhouse Square, and it will be only one of two tour cities where the show will play before its demise... Whad' Ya Know? is produced by Wisconsin Public Radio and distributed by PRI-Public Radio International.

Tickets for Michael Feldman's "WHAD'YA KNOW" are $55 & $39.50 on sale at playhousesquare.org, 216-241-6000 and the Ticket Office. Because this is a live radio broadcast, only seats on the auditorium floor are being sold.
