About the play

This play the second theater production written by Jason Robert Brown presented this year at Lakeland and is also the Northeast Ohio local premier. The story, set on a quiet farm in America's heartland, is about an Italian war bride who is living life as an average Iowan housewife until a National Geographic photographer knocks on her door. He is seeking directions to the area's historic bridges and she offers to ride along with him to find them. As they travel to the various locations for the photo shoots, an unexpected, yet powerful connection grows. And so begins a sweeping romance between soul mates that ultimately leads to the struggle between longing and commitments as well as questions in life about the roads traveled, the doors opened and the bridges crossed.

The play is directed by Dr. Martin Friedman.
