Auditions for THE EXPLORERS CLUB This February

Auditions for "The Explorers Club" by Nell Benjamin and directed by Anne McEvoy will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 and Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Clague Playhouse, 1371 Clague Road, Westlake, Ohio. No appointment is required.

SYNOPSIS: London, 1879. The prestigious Explorers Club is in crisis: their acting president wants to admit a woman and their bartender is terrible. True, this female candidate is brilliant, beautiful, and has discovered a legendary lost city, but the decision to let in a woman could shake the very foundation of the British Empire, and how do you make such a decision without a decent drink?
Grab your safety goggles for some very mad science involving deadly cobras, carnivorous plants, irate Irishmen, and gravity-defying libations.
The show dates are May 4-27, 2018 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

We are looking to cast 1 woman - 20ish to 45ish and 8 men in a variety of ages (20's and up). The director is looking for actors who are comfortable handling an RP British Dialect. (Does not apply to actors only reading only for Luigi.) A sample of the dialect and descriptions of the characters can be found on our website: www.clagueplayhouse.org

Auditioners will be asked to read from the script. A perusal script is available at the Clague Playhouse Box Office for a $10 deposit through February 3, 2018. Please bring current photo or headshot along with your resume and schedule conflicts.
