Afrobeat cannot stand still. As the genre's tempting sounds continue a resurgence across the globe, Chicago Afrobeat Project (CAbP) remains true to its original vision of breathing the intensity of Chicago's rich music scene into the infectious sounds of afrobeat. Rather than become caricatures of the genre, CAbP slips a reverent nod to the tradition while delivering an energized originality different from any other band on the afrobeat scene today. At each of its 100+ live performances a year, the group's frenzied songs hit audiences with a big enough one-two punch to tirelessly knock them onto the dance floor time and time again.

Sexfist have taken Chicago by storm, amazing audiences with their high-energy, hard-driving picking and angelic harmony singing. Sexfist have won numerous awards and accolades including Third All-Time Highest Score on the Golden Tee game at the Oasis in Rogers Park, a citation in June 2005 by Officer Reginald A. White for disorderly conduct and a 2007 Franky nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The band is currently touring in support of its self-titled debut CD as they are once again legal allowed to operate motor vehicles

The Chicago Sun-Times has described Animate Objects as "a live band whose music oozes an almost Philadelphia soul sound with layered grooves punctuated by rhymed lyrics about a world where hope exists alongside darkness, and women are seen as complete human beings." Winners of both the Judges' and Vox Populi voting for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Song in the 2008 Independent Music Awards for their hit single "El Dorado," Animate Objects has been featured in Billboard Magazine and other major publication throughout the country. By integrating eMCees, a DJ and live instrumentation, the band embodies the spirit and soul of the new generation of hip hop.
