Johannes Brahms: Piano Quartet No.1 in G minor, Op.25

Antonin Dvorak: Piano Quintet in A major, Op.81

Piano Quartet No.1 in G minor carries the typical property of Brahms in his later works—the heaviness which can be seen from the complicated conversing between the piano and the stringed instruments making the musical texture as rich as a symphony. Schonberg, was fascinated by this quartet, rearranged it into an orchestral work. Piano Quintet in A Major is one of the most outstanding chamber works of Dvorak, with energetic rhythms and melodies under an integrated motivation. It is a pleasure to listen to the two classic chamber works according to Haochen Zhang and SSO.
