The Skokie Theatre and MadKap Productions present this American classic by Tennessee Williams set in the sweltering Mississippi Delta. Brick, an aging football hero, who desperately escapes reality in a bottle and his beautiful and feisty wife Maggie “the Cat,” must deal with their estranged marriage and the family drama that comes with Big Daddy’s birthday and discussions of the family inheritance. As the hot summer evening unfolds, the veneer of Southern gentility slips away, and long-hidden truths emerge. Starring Sarah Sapperstein as Maggie and Caleb Gibson as Brick. With Jeff Broitman, Ross Childs, Ann James, Reid O’Connell, Emilie Yount and Kent Joseph as Big Daddy. Directed by Stephen Scott from the Goodman Theatre Artistic Collective with Set Design by Joe Johnson, Costume Design by Beth Laske-Miller, and Lighting Design by Pat Henderson.
