U.S. Premiere of A Dream of Arabia
U.S. Premiere of A Dream of Arabia
June 12th 2008
After successful shows in Asia, Bashar Barazi chose to bring A Dream Of Arabia to Chicago for its U.S. premiere not only because of the historical significance of Middle Eastern dance being misrepresented as "belly dance" during the Chicago World's Fair of 1893, but because Chicago is his hometown.
"For us, A Dream Of Arabia, is more than just a show as it is centered around the idea of building cultural bridges," states Barazi. A Dream of Arabia is a majestic fusion of dance and theatre that has been described as a Middle Eastern version of Riverdance; a spectacle that captivates the audience.
