By: Kelsey Denette
Details today emerged on the Rebuild the Dream Village that will be featured at Prince's upcoming "Welcome 2 Chicago" residency. Prince, one of the most prolific and groundbreaking artists of our time, is partnering with Rebuild the Dream at Chicago's United Center from September 24th- September 26th for three concerts. Inside and outside the concerts, the Rebuild the Dream Village will be a prominent part of the experience with a fun, interactive place to learn about how we can all rebuild vibrant and sustainable communities.
Artists, entrepreneurs, innovators, and local leaders will showcase solutions and art installations, and provide information and skills for individuals and communities to improve their economic situation. A key feature of the villages will be "share your story booths," created with Chicago artist Andre Guichard. A full list of partners, sponsors, and activities is available at: http://rebuildthedream.com/prince. Fans and activists, alike, will also have the opportunity to win Purple Circle VIP Packages at the Village."This is more than a series of concerts," said Van Jones, co-founder of Rebuild, "This is about what we leave behind -- an active, engaged group of people who are connected to each other and solutions, and taking steps to build community -- as individuals, community members, and a global society. The Rebuild the Dream Village in Chicago is the beginning."
