Rebuild the Dream Village to be Featured at Prince’s 'Welcome 2 Chicago' Residency

By:

Details today emerged on the Rebuild the Dream Village that will be featured at Prince's upcoming "Welcome 2 Chicago" residency. Prince, one of the most prolific and groundbreaking artists of our time, is partnering with Rebuild the Dream at Chicago's United Center from September 24th- September 26th for three concerts. Inside and outside the concerts, the Rebuild the Dream Village will be a prominent part of the experience with a fun, interactive place to learn about how we can all rebuild vibrant and sustainable communities.

Artists, entrepreneurs, innovators, and local leaders will showcase solutions and art installations, and provide information and skills for individuals and communities to improve their economic situation. A key feature of the villages will be "share your story booths," created with Chicago artist Andre Guichard. A full list of partners, sponsors, and activities is available at: http://rebuildthedream.com/prince. Fans and activists, alike, will also have the opportunity to win Purple Circle VIP Packages at the Village.

"This is more than a series of concerts," said Van Jones, co-founder of Rebuild, "This is about what we leave behind -- an active, engaged group of people who are connected to each other and solutions, and taking steps to build community -- as individuals, community members, and a global society. The Rebuild the Dream Village in Chicago is the beginning."

Illinois-native and member of the New Power Generation, Liv Warfield, will perform with Prince during the three-day residency, and will also be joining Jones at the Rebuild the Dream Village.  Warfield said of her participation, "I am joining this effort because this isn't how the world is supposed to be, and we need to turn things around." She continued, "We want to lead the way to create the world as it should be- with sustainable communities, a sustainable economy, sustainable planet, and sustainable food. I really believe we can do it together, and I am so proud to be a part of it in my home state."

Liv Warfield has one of the most distinctive and promising voices in alternative R&B soul. She has had the honor and pleasure of performing alongside a host of legendary artists such as Prince, B.B. King, The Roots, Dave Matthews Band, Al Green and Jeffery Osborne, to name a few. Fresh off of this year's "Welcome 2 Australia" tour, Liv is heading back into the studio to finish recording her second album.

Rebuild the Dream, founded by Van Jones, is a mobilization of hundreds of thousands of everyday people-from seniors to students, moms, dads, Brothers and Sisters-who come together to build strong vibrant communities and to fix our economy from the ground up.
