Photo Flash: First Look at Raven Theatre Company's DIVIDING THE ESTATE

Dividing the Estate, a 2008-09 Tony Award nominee for Best Original Play and Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role (Hallie Foote), can finally be seen in Chicago in Raven Theatre's production, which began preview performances on Tuesday, January 27. This comedy-drama by the Pulitzer Prize and two-time Academy Award winner Horton Foote focuses on the feuds and disputes among members of a wealthy Texas family whose fortunes have declined. Dividing the Estate was Foote's last new play to be presented on Broadway. Raven Theatre, who produced Foote's The Trip to Bountiful in 2013, is the first professional company to bring this acclaimed script to a Chicago stage. Raven associate artistic director Cody Estle (Raven's Brighton Beach Memoirs and Vieux Carré, The Artistic Home's Watch on the Rhineand Mary-Arrchie's Uncle Bob) directs.

The cast includes marssie Mencotti, Ron Wells, JoAnn Montemurro, Millie Spencer-Hurley, Jon Steinhagen, Tim Martin, Eliza Stoughton, Kathyrn Acosta, Angela Sandall, J.J. McCormick, Shariba Rivers, BrittneyLove Smith and Hillary Horvath.

The design team includes Jeffrey D. Kmiec (set designer), Kurt Ottinger (lighting designer), Kate Murphy (costume designer) Christopher M. LaPorte (sound designer) and Julia Carusillo (properties design). Also on the production team are Tara Malpass (Stage Manager), Jacqueline Wills (assistant director), Jenna Meyers (assistant stage manager) and Debrorah Blumenthal (dramaturg).

Previews are January 27 - February 1, 2015, with the press opening Monday, February 2, 2015. The regular run will be February 5 - March 28, 2015. Tickets are on sale now at www.raventheatre.com or by calling 773-338-2177.
