By:

Oak Park Festival Theatre presents three Family Days on Sundays, June 26, July 24, and August 7, 2011, at 4:30 p.m. in Oak Park's Austin Gardens.

In concert with OPFT's summer productions of The History of King Henry the Fourth and Henry V, OPFT will have Shakespearian and Medieval fun for the entire family. There will be crafts, performances, stage combat demonstrations, and other activities relating to the mainstage plays. At 6:00 each day, there will be a performance of the play, preceded by a kid-friendly synopsis given by one of the characters in the play. On June 26, the performance will be Henry the Fourth. On July 24 and August 7, the play will be Henry V.

Family Days will be presented on three Sunday afternoons only, June 26, July 24, and August 7 at 4:30 p.m., with a performance of the full Shakespeare play at 6:00 p.m. (Sunday performances are usually at 7:00.) The family-friendly admission price is $15 for adults and $10 for children. Families should feel free to bring a picnic. There are also many local restaurants where a picnic dinner can be procured before the festivities. Please see OakParkFestival.com for more information.
