Porchlight Music Theatre presents a musical tribute to Tony-Award winning composer and lyricist, Maury Yeston.  This magical night of music from the creator of Grand Hotel, Phantom, Nine and Titanic starring some of Chicago's musical theatre and cabaret stars, will take place on Monday, February 11 at 7:30PM at the Lakeshore Theater, 3175 N. Broadway, Chicago.  The evening will include performances by cast members from Altar Boyz, Jersey Boys and Wicked.   

This theatre season, Porchlight Music Theatre, Chicago's most awarded music theater, turns the spotlight on this composer with main stage productions of his Phantom, and coming this spring Nine The Musical.  To complement the main stage season, Porchlight Artistic Associates Rob Lindley and Music Director (and Jeff-Award winner) Doug Peck present Unusual Way: The Maury Yeston Songbook.

Creators Rob Lindley and Doug Peck have previously presented several musical tributes to contemporary composers. Unusual Way: The Maury Yeston Songbook will be an once-in-a-lifetime evening of his Broadway show-stoppers as well as many songs Yeston provided exclusively for this performance.

Actors currently scheduled to appear throughout the evening include Sean Blake, Nicholas Belton, Devin DeSantis, Arielle Doneson, Rebecca Finnegan, Laura Freeman, David Girolmo, Jess Godwin, Colleen McHugh, Johanna McKenzie Miller, Jessie Mueller, John Reeger, Peggy Roeder, Hollis Resnik, Paula Scrofano, Anne Sheridan Smith, Bethany Thomas, Stephen Wallem, and Jonathan Weir.

A not-for-profit organization, Porchlight has staged 36 shows, including five world premieres and four Chicago premieres.  The company has been recognized with 24 Joseph Jefferson Equity Award nominations, 10 Equity Jeff Awards, 31 Jeff Citation nominations, as well as 11 Jeff Citations, 28 After Dark Awards, and two Black Theater Alliance Award nominations.
