"Just Ranting the Blues" gears up for the latest installment in its premiere serial, "Darren's Dead?. Lorenzo Blackett's "Just Ranting the Blues, Play #002: Lorenzo the Rat Slayer" performs Monday, December 8 and Monday, December 15, 2014 at 8 pm. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at gorillatango.com/bucktown or by calling 773-598-4549. All performances take place at Gorilla Tango Bucktown, 1919 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647.

The world of "Just Ranting the Blues" is a Chicago where rats get slain and blind men do cocaine. This windy city has dead men walking right alongside a personified literary device talking. Cool winds blowing off the lake remind manipulatively, persuasive playwrights that love is more complex than what they've conceived on paper and ignorance allows hobo trackers to mentally rob them. Thank goodness everything always works out the way it's supposed to...or does it? Lorenzo the Rat Slayer is the epic tale of a man faced with adversity and claiming his destiny, all the while metaphorically kicking it in its face in the process. He's been chosen to protect mankind from its one true threat: rats!

"Just Ranting the Blues: Play #002: Lorenzo The Rat Slayer" features Shannon Hill, Carter Petray, Savanna Rae, Michael Rawls, Jr., Hannah Williams, and Zach Wziontka. Created and directed by Lorenzo Blackett, Jr.
