Pride Films and Plays' annual fall benefit, SIMPLY SENSATIONAL, will feature Chicago native Jose Maxi Ramos, who had played the roles of John Laurens and Phillip Hamilton in the Chicago production of HAMILTON from its opening in September 2016 until late this past summer. Ramos recently left HAMILTON to pursue a career as a solo singer-songwriter and premiered his solo act at Chicago's Schuba's Tavern in August. His act includes his original pop melodies with R&B attitude along with fan-favorite covers. He describes his material as songs of "the relationships you have, the relationships you want and dreaming big dreams." For music and more, check out Jose's social media posts on Instagram & YouTube @josemaxiramos

Ramos is a Chicago-area native (born in Evanston) who graduated from The Chicago Academy for the Arts in 2011 as a Musical Theater Artist. After high school, Ramos went to New York City, where he attended a musical theater program for two years. In 2013 he performed in the annual "Broadway's Rising Stars" show at Town Hall in New York City. He has also appeared on TV's CHICAGO MED.

In addition to Ramos' headliner act, SIMPLY SENSATIONAL will feature performances by a number of Chicago's leading musical theatre singers, including stars from PFP's recent productions and a preview of PFP's next musical. Attendees will also meet actors and directors from PFP's current 2018-2019 theatre season.

The festivities will take place in The Broadway, the 85-seat venue at Pride Arts Center, 4139 N. Broadway, Chicago. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for the benefit at $100 and include reserved center-section seating for the 7:30 pm performance. General Admission tickets are $50 and include the performance and a post-show dessert reception.

SELECT tickets are also available for $1,000.00, which includes 2 VIP tickets and admission for two to a "behind the scenes" show rehearsal with Jose Ramos and the full cast the evening of Sunday, November 4.

For tickets call 1 800 811-4111 or purchase on line at www.pridefilmsandplays.com.

SIMPLY SENSATIONAL features musical direction by Robert Ollis and is directed by David Zak.

The evening benefits the programming of Pride Films and Plays, and the ongoing renovation of the Pride Arts Center.
