GayCo Productions Presents
Whitney Houston, We Have a Problem!
A Sketch Comedy Revue
April 18 - May 25

GayCo Productions remounts their inaugural sketch comedy revue, Whitney Houston, We Have a Problem, exactly eleven years after it was first created at the Second City. Whitney Houston launched GayCo Productions and became the first of fourteen comedy revues.

Performances begin April 18th at the Hoover- Leppen Theatre at Center on Halsted (located at Halsted and Waveland).

Back when gay marriage was even more theoretical than it is now, there was Whitney Houston, We Have a Problem! Originally produced through the Second City Outreach Program, Whitney Houston is a hilarious, fascinating and somewhat subversive barometer of how GLBT culture and issues have changed in a decade…and how so much stays exactly the same.

Originally directed for the stage by Jeff Richmond (now a Producer and Musical Director of 30 Rock), Whitney Houston blurs the line between sketch and musical revue, borrowing Second City's format of intricately interwoven sketches, short blackouts and pointed political satire.

Taking its cues from the struggles of its namesake, Whitney digs in: Ad Execs struggle to reach the gay demographic;  Terrified parents struggle to avoid their gay kids; James Bondage struggles to top his nemesis, Octoclitty; a trio of nuns struggle with body image; and the gay community struggles with whether there is any such thing as a 'gay community.'  The humanity of it all.
