Chicago's Drury Lane Hosts Gala Benefit May 20

WHAT: Be one of the first to see a show at a brand-new Chicago theatre by attending an Opening Night VIP Gala at the newly built, state-of-the-art, 549-seat intimate space called Drury Lane Theatre Water Tower Place at the top of Chicago's Miracle Mile. The evening, which benefits The Theatre School's Scholarship Fund, includes a performance of the long-running Broadway musical comedy hit "The Full Monty" and a post-show champagne reception with the cast right around the corner from the theatre at the Carlton Club (Ritz-Carlton Hotel, 12th floor).

DESCRIPTION: Directed and choreographed by Broadway veteran and four-time Jeff Award-winner Jim Corti, "The Full Monty" is a heartfelt comedy about true friendship and the resilience of the human spirit friendship as a father tries to raise some quick cash to maintain custody of his son. Together with five unemployed, out-of-shape steel-mill workers from Buffalo, this unlikely group of lovable misfits hatch a desperate plan to get their lives back together requiring them to triumph over their fears, their nerves and their clothes. With a touching and funny book by Tony Award-winner Terrence McNally (Ragtime, The Rink, Kiss of the Spider Woman) and a catchy pop score by David Yazbek (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), "The Full Monty" was nominated for 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
