Chicago Dramatists celebrates 31 years of success with its annual gala benefit, The Blue Moon Ball: Tony Awards Night in Chicago. The fundraising gala, one of the theatre's most entertaining summer events, will be held at the Galleria Marchetti, 825 W. Erie, on Sunday, June 13, 2010 and kick off at 5:30 p.m.

The Blue Moon Ball brings together Chicago's philanthropic and artistic communities for an exciting evening of cocktails, dining, dancing, silent and live auctions. A special broadcast of Tony Awards highlights to celebrate Chicago Dramatists' presence on Broadway this season with Keith Huff's run-away hit A Steady Rain starring Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman.

The Blue Moon Ball will bring together 300 esteemed guests for the elegant soiree - Broadway's Biggest Night with a Chicago Flair. Guests will walk the red carpet and gather in the garden at the Galleria for cocktails and to toast Chicago's and Chicago Dramatists' presence on Broadway.

The crowd will also raise their glasses to the other 200 playwrights whose plays developed at Chicago Dramatists move on to stages throughout Chicago such as The Goodman, Victory Gardens, Steppenwolf, Black Ensemble Theatre, and Stage Left, Next, among others and throughout the country.

Master of Ceremonies will be Chicago Dramatists' Associate Artist, RAndy Steinmeyer, winner of the 2008 Jeff Award for his portrayal of ‘Denny' in Chicago Dramatists' production of A Steady Rain. Other notable actors, playwrights, and theatre artists will dance the night away to the music of Rhapsody Orchestra.
