Chicago Chamber Music Program to Open Scholarship Applications for Ages 7-18

Applications for the American Youth Chamber Orchestra’s (AYCO) 2026–2027 merit scholarships and need-based financial aid for young musicians ages 7–18 will close on May 31.

Study with world-class musicians from Juilliard, Oberlin, Berklee, and other top music conservatories around the world at AYCO Chamber Music Program in Chicago, IL. AYCO is a great opportunity for young musicians to play and create chamber music in duos, trios, quartets, etc, and be coached by some of Chicago's premier musicians.

AYCO's Scholarship Program is designed to recognize and reward outstanding musical talent while promoting diversity, equity, and access in music education. Scholarships are awarded based on merit and financial need, ensuring that all young musicians have the opportunity to pursue their passion for music and reach their full potential.

Merit Scholarships: Recognizing Exceptional Talent

AYCO's merit scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional musical talent, dedication, and potential.

Key Details for Merit Applicants:

  • Eligibility: Students aged 7-18

  • Submission: All applicants must complete the online form and submit the Merit Audition Video via Google Drive to AYCO@amimusic.org by the May 31st deadline.

  • Renewal: Scholarships are awarded annually. Current scholars must re-apply and re-audition each year to demonstrate continued improvement and commitment.

Need-Based Financial Aid: Ensuring Accessibility

Financial aid scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and may not otherwise have access to music education and performance opportunities.
