Brevard Philharmonic presents The Pines of Rome at Porter Center

The Brevard Philharmonic brings its season to a thrilling close with Pines of Rome on Sunday, May 17, an afternoon of music that is as powerful as it is unforgettable. At the heart of the concert is Ottorino Respighi’s Pines of Rome, one of the most vivid and imaginative works in the orchestral repertoire. Through four richly detailed movements, Respighi paints a sonic portrait of Rome, from the playful energy of children at the Villa Borghese to the awe-inspiring grandeur of a Roman army marching along the Appian Way. Also featured on the program is Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1, performed by acclaimed violinist Oliver Neubauer.
