By:

The Matthews Playhouse of the Performing Arts will end their 2010 Summer Stage Series with a production of Disney's Alice in Wonderland Jr.

This fast-paced stage adaptation of the beloved Disney cartoon features all the characters you love and remember including The White Rabbit, The Cheshire Cat, The Caterpillar, The Tweedles, The Mad Hatter, and The Queen of Hearts. The show also includes new arrangements of such classic Disney songs as "I'm Late", "The Un-Birthday Song", "Golden Afternoon" and "Painting The Roses Red"

Disney's Alice in Wonderland Jr. is Directed and Choreographed by Matthews Playhouse Artistic Associate: Robbie Jaeger, Musically Directed by: Ryan Stamey, and features Costumes by: Eric Grace. The show also boasts an innovative Production Design and Puppet Design by Abby Felder.

Abby Felder, a native of Charlotte, graduated from Country Day High School in 2000. After graduation, Ms. Felder moved to New York and received a Liberal Arts Degree from Sarah Lawrence University. At Sarah Lawrence, Ms. Felder continued to further her knowledge of puppets, and puppet making by studying in Prague in 2002 and directing a student puppet production of "Elektra" in 2004. After graduating from college, Ms. Felder received a grant to return to Prague in 2005. She moved to Prague for six months and studied puppetry under Mr. Frantisek Watzl of Divadlo Xaver. Watzel helped her to create and develop her own puppet show "Slug and Snail" which she still tours with today. Ms. Felder now lives in New York City. She is the Producing Associate for Pan Asian Repertory Theatre and works as a puppeteer for the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre in Central Park.
