The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture invites the community to learn from members of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at a free "Get to Know The Show" lecture/demonstration. This special event will take place Monday, Feb. 8 at 6:00 p.m. at the Knight Theater.

The program, led by Ailey dancers, consists of narration, warm-up exercises, common dance movements and short excerpts from popular pieces of their repertory. The narration includes a brief history of the company and discussion of the commitment, discipline and hard work involved in becoming a professional dancer - elements common to achievement of any personal goal. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions and personally meet the cast.

The community* is invited for a night of great rock music and to learn more about Led Zeppelin while preparing for an upcoming performance by GET THE LED OUT at the Belk Theater. The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center's Education Department will host a free "Get To Know The Show" event for GET THE LED OUT on Wed., Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Kashmir Lounge. The evening's program will feature Dr. John Harding, Professor of History of Rock at Central Piedmont Community College and a special audio visual presentation. Be part of the fun and participate in a trivia contest to win a pair of tickets to GET THE LED OUT and other great prizes. (*Restrictions: event is open to adults 21 and over.)

GET THE LED OUT has captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and brought it to the big concert stage. The Philadelphia-based group consists of six accomplished musicians intent on delivering Led Zeppelin's studio recordings with all the bells and whistles. GET THE LED OUT re-creates the songs in all their depth and glory with the studio overdubs that even Zeppelin never performed live. Dubbed by the media as "The American Led Zeppelin," GET THE LED OUT present a two hour set each night that spans the mythic career of the legendary British super group.
