BLACK NATIVITY Auditions To Be Held 9/20, 9/21 At The Historic Excelsior Club

Tomorrow's R.O.A.D. (Roots Of the African Diaspora) will hold open auditions for the 2009 production of The Black Nativity: A Gospel Song Play, by Langston Hughes

Sunday September 20 at 2pm and Monday September 21 at 6pm. Auditions will be held at The Historic Excelsior Club, 921 Beatties Ford Road Charlotte, NC 28216. Various roles are available for dancers, singers and aspiring actors as well as technical/visual artist. All skill sets welcome.

To register, please send an email to blacknativity@yahoo.com indicating which open audition you plan to attend. Please print the confirmation email that confirms your registration and bring to the audition. Early registration is strongly encouraged. To participate in the open audition process please come prepared to showcase a two-minute drama or vocal selection. Interested dancers should come dressed in dance attire ready to audition with the choreographer. Cast selected from this audition will perform in The Black Nativity in December produced by Tomorrow's R.O.A.D as a fundraiser.

Black Nativity: A Gospel Song Play created by Langston Hughes, has been a holiday favorite in theaters across the country since it debuted on Broadway in December, 1961.

Tomorrow's R.O.A.D. is a Charlotte, North Carolina-based 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization which seeks to engage and enlighten the community with cultural, historical and arts programs that exemplify the organizational mission: To empower young people of all backgrounds to understand and make change in the world through implementing and supporting cultural, historical, artistic and leadership development activities connected to the history and heritage of the African diaspora.
