Based on the show business careers of R&B acts such as “The Supremes”, this explosive musical traces the rise to fame of “The Dreams”, a young female singing trio from Chicago. After an initial big break, heated rivalries and shameful secrets threaten to derail the group’s climbing musical reputation. Lead singer Effie, whose large voice matches her full figure, is pushed aside in favor of her thinner backup. A soulful score, glittering costumes, and characters that audiences love to root for make Dreamgirls a must-see musical experience.
