SIN, SEX & THE C.I.A. Opens this Week at HLT
The audience might have a hard time telling the good guys from the bad guys in "Sin, Sex & the C.I.A.," the next show in Hanover Little Theatre's (HLT's) 65th season. This laugh-out-loud farce is written by Michael Parker and Susan Parker, authors of last season's hit comedy "Sex Please, We're Sixty."
Tickets are on sale now for the April 3-6 and 10-12 performances. Showtimes are 8 p.m., except for a 2 p.m. matinee on April 6. All performances are at the HLT playhouse, 360 Blooming Grove Road, Hanover. Erin DiNello is directing.
Opening Night on April 3 will feature a post-show reception sponsored by Rose's Pizza and Restaurant in McSherrystown. Audience members will have the opportunity to enjoy some of Rose's Italian specialties while mingling with the cast and crew.
In the show, a meeting between a small island nation and the U.S. State Department is planned to discuss oil reserves, but no one, including the rookie CIA agent sent to oversee the meeting, knows who the island's representative really is.
As the agent gets caught in his own booby traps and the U.S. representative has her eyes on the ex-Marine in charge of the safe house, a Southern preacher, his secretary, a mysterious neighbor and a helpful park ranger all show up unannounced at the "secret" meeting site sowing confusing, romance and laughter.
Beau Bowden returns to the HLT stage as CIA agent Luke James. Brian Shea plays Daniel Warren, the caretaker, while Bonnie Raubenstine takes the stage as Margaret Johnson from the State Department. Skip Tananis will play the Rev. Samuel Abernathy; Courtney McDougall makes her HLT debut as Millicent; Nicole Merkel appears as Heather Ann Farady; and Heidi Hormel will play Ranger Don.
Tickets are $12 for adults with a $1 for discount for students and seniors. Group ticket discounts are available. Visit www.hanoverlittletheatre.com or call 717-637-5297 to reserve seats for this hilarious romp.
