Whether you are new to theatre directing, or looking to expand your skills, DreamWrights' Directing Workshop is a valuable opportunity to learn and grow. In a supportive environment, participants will examine pre-production planning, communication with actors, and collaboration with a production team, blocking, strategies for rehearsal and time management, and how to navigate the tech week process. Participants will have the opportunity for hands-on directing experience throughout.

Taught by Laurie Riffe, DreamWrights' Director of Artistic Programming, this workshop is for anyone ages 18 and older who is interested in directing. Riffe is looking forward to digging into the craft with the workshop participants. "As I've directed ages 3 to adult in cast sizes of 1 to 70, I truly enjoy teaching the craft of directing and mentoring other directors. The Directing Workshop is set in a non-competitive and welcoming atmosphere. We will dive deeply into the art of directing, while having a great deal of fun along the way!" The workshop is tailored to challenge and engage all levels of directing experience, from newbies to seasoned directors. She smiles, "The only requirements are a commitment to the process, a strong curiosity, and the desire to collaborate with others."

DreamWrights' Directing Workshop is a valuable opportunity to strengthen your existing skills, while developing new ones. The workshops will run weekly on Saturdays, January 6 - 24 from 11 AM to 1 PM. Because each session will build on the previous session, weekly attendance is mandatory. For more information or to register, please contact DreamWrights at 717-848-8623 or online at www.dreamwrights.org. Space is limited. The registration deadline is December 15, 2017.
