Hershey Area Playhouse to Present GYPSY, 7/17-27

Let Hershey Area Playhouse entertain you with its summer production of the musical Gypsy on July 17-20 and 24-27, 2014. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sundays.

Gypsy is a powerful musical that follows Rose, a determined mother who pushes her two daughters into the life of show business. The show features songs including "Let Me Entertain You" and "Everything's Coming Up Roses." The talented performing ensemble is led by Marjorie Bicknell as Rose (pictured below), Mark Douglas Cuddy as Herbie, Kara Miller as Louise (pictured above), Erika Flanick as June, and Chris Marth as Tulsa. The performance also features Sarah Adams, Michael Beckstein, Amy Jo Brixius, Ella Ferguson, Gabi Hemsch, Keifer Kemmerly, Danielle Klinger, Samantha Koegler, Tim Koons, Katie Latta, Avery LeVan, Wendy Lubell, John Mallonee, Cara McErlean, Colleen Mullikin, Morgan Owsley, Dara Rees, Amiekay Rickcrick, Levi Snyder, Sage Snyder, Valerie Schrader, Jesse Small, Ezra Smith, Fletcher Smith, Patti Uhrich, and Travis A. Zimmerman.

Director-Choreographer Eric S. Mansilla describes the show as having, "Humor, romance, drama, dancing, singing . . . and a stunning portrayal of the classiest, most intelligent strip tease artist (perhaps ever) to tread the boards. And we have an all-volunteer cast to pull it off! You'll be dazzled by the set, lighting and costumes; you'll be swept away by the music; and you'll be both excited and moved by the performances, including those by some surprise local guest stars! Gypsy is certainly not a show to miss!"
