Kicking of the 2018/2019 Ellen Arnold Groff Series at the Tell Studio Theatre is the perfect Halloween tonic, The Mystery of Irma Vep. The play takes place deep within the moors of the Hillcrest Family Estate at Mandacrest. Lord Edgar, an Egyptologist, widowed and on his second wife, is not over the passing of his first, Irma Vep. Edgar is consumed by the sudden death of his beloved and the strange events happening around the grounds of the manor. The Mystery of Irma Vep, is a gut-busting farce full of Victorian melodrama, Gothic romance, classic horror films, and two actors playing 8 roles with 35 costume changes!

The Mystery of Irma Vep was created by Charles Ludlam who also starred in the play's first off-off-Broadway premier in New York City's Greenwich Village in 1984. The original production won a Special Drama Desk Award and an Obie Award of Ensemble Performance. The show was later produced off-Broadway at The Westside Theatre where it won several more critic's awards.

The cast features Chuck Ragsdale (National tour of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, Fulton Theatre's Full Monty, Spamalot) as Jane Twiden, Lord Edgar Hillcrest, and An Intruder. The play co-stars Oliver Wadsworth (National tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Off-Broadway: Variety Art's Endpapers, The Public Theater's Well, and New York Theatre Workshop's Bread and Roses) as Nicodemus Underwood, Lady Enid Hillcrest, and Alcazar.

The creative team for the production includes Andrew Kindig (Director), William James Mohney (Scenic Designer), Mary Lana Rice (Lighting Designer), Anthony Lascosckie, Jr. (Costume, Wig, and Makeup Designer), Matthew Moran (Sound Designer), Katelin Walsko (Props Designer), Amy M. Bertacini (Production Stage Manager), and Bob Cline (Casting Director).
