The Playgroup Presents BETTER THAN MONEY

By:

The Playgroup, LLC is happy to announce the return of popular playwright Joe Feinstein with an insightful comedy, BETTER THAN MONEY. WW II is over, but WW III is just starting for the Noodlemans. The well laid plans of the mother, Gussie, veer in unexpected directions in the face of the secret desires of the rest of the family.

"A terrific cast is bringing the Noodleman family to life with humor, insight and love" according to Director Joyce Sweeney who is also the founding Artistic Director of The Playgroup, LLC. Frequent theatre goers will recognize local actors Elli Murray, Christopher Mitchell, Paul Rosen, Melanie Crim and Irene Kessler who are making return performances with The Playgroup. They are joined by accomplished actor Mary Stucchi in her Playgroup debut.

Set Designer Tom Andrew is constructing the Noodlemans' Bronx apartment on stage with his usual flair and veracity. Jaime Gonzalez of Style Me Jaime has created authentic period costumes and hair styles for the cast.

This is the second outing for Author Joe Feinstein with The Playgroup. A winter resident of Boca Raton. the former teacher and substance abuse therapist has entertained audiences with three full length comedies, Better Than Money, Last of the Aztecs and That Family Thing. His short plays have been featured around the country and the United Kingdom.

Founded in 2010, The Playgroup is committed to showcasing the work of local artists; playwrights, directors and actors. They only produce original plays by local playwrights and hold monthly workshops where playwrights can develop their projects and network with local actors and directors. Past productions include: The Last Of The Aztecs, also by Joe Feinstein, Scenes From A Chinese Restaurant by Tom Andrew, Little Piggies and Broken Angels by Todd Caster, Joseph Andrews by Peter Hawkins, The Monster Project by Brian Harris and five one-act evenings: Shortcuts 1,2,3, 4 and 5. The Playgroup constantly seeks new playwrights to showcase. Visit http://www.theplaygroupllc.com
