The PiTCH to Present New Musical GUMBO
Facing the loss of his beloved wife, a newlywed doctor descends the floodwaters of the hurricane-ravaged City to free her from The Devil and his soul-stealing underwater club, all the while discovering the magic of her hometown. GUMBO is a vibrant take on the Orpheus & Eurydice tale that explores the mythos of Hurricane Katrina through the heart and music of the great city of New Orleans.
The PiTCH provides a forum for musicals in their earliest stages of development. Each week, the creative team 'pitches' their material to audiences in our 80-seat converted carriage house, Theater Mack - behind the Cayuga Museum. Each presentation is approximately an hour long. Afterward, the audience and creative team engage in active dialogue about the piece and the process. Performances are Thursday, 6/30 at 7:30 PM, Friday, 7/1 at 8:00 PM and Saturday, 7/2 at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $20 each.
Doors open an hour before each performance, so come enjoy a glass of wine or beer and refreshments before the show starts!
