Red House Arts Center will present the Syracuse Premiere of The Penguin Tango, an original comedy by Stephen Svoboda. The show will run from October 23rd through November 1st.

In this side-splitting, screwball comedy, inspired by actual events at the Bremerhaven, Brooklyn, and Central Park Zoos, a community of penguins is hilariously turned upside down by sex, stereotypes, and soggy sardines. Broadway World called The Penguin Tango "... sweet, charming, winsome and utterly enjoyable." Don't miss the chance to see the play Backstage Magazine calls "...a parachute ride into an anthropomorphic amusement park.

The production is directed by Stephen Svoboda and features a team of Red House veterans. Returning NYC actors include Steve Hayes (Hamlet, Hairspray, Hollywood Reunion), Adam Perabo (Hamlet, Baltimore Waltz), John Bixler (Spelling Bee, Macbeth), and Chris Coffey (Frog and Toad, The Cherry Orchard). Local Syracuse actors include Donnie Williams (Twelfth Night, Assassins), Laura Austin (Spelling Bee, Next to Normal, W;t) Jason Tarbox (Next to Normal, Full Monty), and Brittany Melendez (Hamlet, The Cherry Orchard). New to the Redhouse are Chad Tallon and Jonathan Wells.

The production team features Set Design by Tim Brown, Light Design by Chuan -Chi Chan, Sound Design by Tony Vadala, Choreography by Erin Lafferty, Costume Design by Nikki Delhomme and Original Music by Patrick Burns.
