HSC Announces Cast of SWITZERLAND by Joanna Murray
SWITZERLAND, the New York premiere by celebrated Australian playwright Joanna Murray-Smith, directed by Dan Foster. Featured in the cast are Peggy J. Scott as Patricia Highsmith, the noted writer of "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Strangers on a Train" and Daniel Petzold as the young man sent to Switzerland to woo her back to writing.
It's 1995 in the Swiss Alps and Ms. Highsmith is visited by a genial young man from her New York publisher, sent to convince her to write the final installment of her best-selling Mr. Ripley series. What first appears to be a standard cat-and-mouse game of wit and wiles, soon becomes a dance to the death. Who is the cat and who is the mouse? And... who will make it out of Switzerland alive?
Three weekends only. Opening night of Sat. April 21st. Fridays, Saturdays 8pm, Sunday matinees at 3pm. Closing weekend: Saturday matinee at 3pm. Peggy J. Scott's Broadway credits include IS HE DEAD, Off-Broadway with the NY Shakespeare Festival, Mint Theatre, La Mama, and Negro Ensemble Company. Regionally seen at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Guthrie, Denver Center, ACT, Mark Taper, Huntington. Her film credits include "In Lieu of Flowers", "Finding Amanda", Serial among others. On TV she is the recurring role of Jeanne on HBO's upcoming series "Succession", HBO's "Show Me a Hero", "House of Cards", "The Americans", and three seasons as Jeanne Reilly on "Rescue Me"; other guest appearances on "Marvelous Mrs. Maisel", "Bull", "30 Rock", "The Big C", "Person of Interest", "Law and Order" and more.
Daniel Petzold most recently performed in Project Y Theatre's world premiere IN THE LINE. Regional appearances at The Old Globe, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Shotgun Players, Magic Theatre, Pacific Repertory Theatre and performances with the San Francisco, Marin, and Livermore Shakespeare Festivals. He's in the upcoming web series "Livin' the Dream".
