Capital Repertory Theatre announces its inaugural trip to the Dublin Theatre Festival, October 6 through 14, 2012. The Albany theatre will join forces with The Chester Theatre (Chester, MA) to take 30 people on an 8-day excursion to the Emerald Isle, accompanied by Artistic Director co-hosts, Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill of Capital Rep and Byam Stevens of the Chester company.

The Dublin Theatre Festival is one of Europe’s oldest interNational Theatre festivals and has been on the world’s festival calendar since 1957. The prestigious annual event showcases exciting new productions from Ireland and from around the world, incorporating everything from music to dance, and from cutting-edge theatre to the biggest shows bound for Broadway.

In addition to hundreds of main-stage productions, the festival presents a multitude of special events, which include master classes from the world’s top practitioners, artist development programs, film screenings, symposiums and panel discussions.

The trip includes round-trip airfare from Boston’s Logan International Airport on Aer Lingus, 7 nights lodging with breakfast at the 4-Star Gresham Hotel in the heart of the city, tickets to 5 Dublin Theatre Festival performances, a welcome banquet and daily talkbacks with the trip co-hosts, as well as Elms College Professor of English, Robert King. The trip also features a special talk with Andrew Hinds, Artistic Director of Classic Stage Ireland and ample free time to explore Dublin and Ireland’s countryside.

Cost of the trip is $3,950 (including a $500 tax deductible donation to Capital Repertory Theatre). Individuals going on the trip will drive to Elms College in Chicopee, MA, where there is free parking for the trip duration, and take a round-trip charter bus at no extra charge to Logan International Airport.

The trip is limited to 18 people from Capital Rep and spaces are filling up fast.

This once in a lifetime experience filled with interNational Theatre on the Emerald Isle is in part a fundraiser for Capital Repertory Theatre’s Upcoming Season.
