Cortland Repertory Theatre is announcing the 5th Annual "Creative Cortland" Community Visual Art Exhibition, to be showcased at CRT Downtown, 24-26 Port Watson Street in Cortland from February 24 through March 5. This unique gallery will showcase the talents of some of Cortland's best visual artists, including professionals, amateurs, and students. This evolving exhibition provides a platform for imaginative expression and appreciation, while exploring this year's theme of "Connection". At two special Friday evening events, on February 24 and March 3, featured local artists will be creating art live in the gallery through various mediums. All ages are encouraged to attend and chat with the artists about their work.
New this year, Cortland Repertory Theatre is partnering with Truxton Academy Charter School to exhibit artwork created during their after-school enrichment program: Cultivating Creativity Series 1 - Exploring Artistic Techniques. All student artwork was created under the guidance of a local professional artist and will be available for purchase at a cost of $20 per piece, with 100% of the proceeds going to TACS to support future creative enrichment programs.
