Grammy nominated pianist/vocalist, Judy Carmichael, host of The Loading Dock's jazz-inspired series, Swingin' Nights With Judy Carmichael & Friends, will join Jon-Erik Kellso and Ehud Asherie on vocals and in two-piano duets for an evening of swing music and rollicking boogie and stride piano. Jon-Erik Kellso is one of the greatest trumpeters playing in the swing tradition on the scene today. He has been a regular in Vince Giordano's Nighthawks, performed and recorded with Dick Hyman, Catherine Russell, Cecile McLorin Salvant, Elvis Costello, Linda Ronstadt, Leon Redbone and many others. Jon-Erik can be heard on several television and movie soundtracks, including Ghost World, "The Aviator," "Mildred Pierce," and "Bessie" with Vince Giordano's Nighthawks. He can also be heard and seen in "Revolutionary Road" and the HBO series, "Boardwalk Empire," for which the Nighthawks won a Grammy.

Jon is on well over a hundred recordings, including several as a leader. Jazz pianist, Ehud Asherie integrates the venerable New York piano tradition into his inventive style. From Small's Jazz Club to the Rainbow Room, from Lincoln Center to The Village Vanguard, Asherie has worked with a broad range of musicians including: Eric Alexander, Roy Ayers, Peter Bernstein, Jesse Davis, Bobby Durham, Vince Giordano, Wycliffe Gordon, Scott Hamilton, Catherine Russell, Ken Peplowski and Clark Terry. The New Yorker calls him a master of swing and stride. The next guest in Judy Carmichael's Swingin' Nights Series at The Loading Dock will be pianist Ben Paterson in a celebration of Oscar Peterson and Nat King Cole on Thursday, May 2 at 8:00 p.m.
