By:

Continuing Adirondack Theatre Festival's (ATF) 22nd summer season of professional theatre is A COMEDY OF MANORS. Performances will be held at the Charles R. Wood Theater (207 Glen Street in downtown Glens Falls) July 12th - July 22nd at 7:30pm with a special matinee performance on July 20th at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $32-$45 and are available at the Wood Theater Box Office, online at ATFestival.org, or by calling (518) 480-4878. Discount season flex passes are available for the full seven show line-up.

When the old Earl of Whitelingham dies, leaving debts in the millions and an estate about to foreclose, the family tries to save its future by doing what anyone would do: stealing a priceless (and hideous) painting and selling it on the black market. The only problem? Everyone thinks they're working alone and no one knows which painting to steal. In just a single afternoon, countless identities are mistaken, crazy cats are hunted, paintings are set on fire (and maybe the cat too), and one accidental murder could save the day in this hysterical modern farce that will keep you laughing until the very end.

The playwright, Zoe Samuel, has a unique view into this world as she grew up in it. The daughter of a Viscount, the humor in A COMEDY OF MANORS, best described as DOWNTON ABBEY meets NOISES OFF, comes directly from Zoe's time growing up in England.

A COMEDY OF MANORS stars Isabel Keating (It's Only a Play, Spider-Man, Hairspray), John Wojda (Present Laughter), Polly Lee (The Americans), Tara Pacheco (The Mysteries), Gerry Bamman (An Enemy of the People, Merchant of Venice), Rory Kulz (The Mysteries), and William Youmans (Titanic, Wicked). The design team is: Anshuman Bhatia (Set), Chelsie McPhilimy (Lights), Patrick MacDonald (Sound), Rebekah Priebe (Costumes).

Benjamin Kamine directs. Recent credits include Carlyle by Thomas Bradshaw (workshop production at the New Stages Festival, Goodman Theatre), the New York premiere of Washer/Dryer by Nandita Shenoy (Ma-Yi Theater Company), the world premieres of Thomas Bradshaw's Job and Christopher Oscar Pen?a's a cautionary tail (The Flea Theater), The Dum Dums by Joshua Conkel (Glass Mind Theatre), Pied! by Julia Meinwald and Gordon Leary (Polyphone Festival, University of the Arts) and Samsara by Lauren Yee (Chance Theater). Mr. Kamine is an associate artist at The Flea Theater and a resident director at the Jewish Plays Project. He has developed new plays with Ars Nova, Brooklyn College, Cape Cod Theatre Project, EST/Youngblood, The New Group and PlayPenn, among many others. He is a member of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab, the 2015/2016 Civilians R&D Group and SDC. Mr. Kamine was also a member of the 2014/2015 Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab and an SDC 2014/2015 LABA Fellow.
