About this camp
URJ Camp Kalsman is the Union for Reform Judaism's overnight camp for the Pacific Northwest, on roughly 300 acres in Arlington, Washington. Campers come from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and British Columbia. Sessions run from late June through mid-August and range from a four-day Taste of Camp for the youngest campers to five-week and full-summer programs; unit placement is by grade, from kindergarten through eleventh grade. Daily life combines electives, free swim, unit programming, and outdoor activities such as the Giant Swing with t'filah (prayer) and shira (song session). Older units take off-camp day trips, and teens can continue into the Machon counselor-in-training program or Israel and Europe travel programs. Financial assistance and One Happy Camper first-time camper grants are available. Camp Kalsman is ACA accredited.
Units by grade: Taste of Camp (K-1), Coogarim (1-2), Goorim (2-3), Nitzotzot (3-4), Nemerim/Kochavim (4-5), Tzofim (6-7), Kesher (8-10), Machon Counselor-in-Training (11). A $300 non-refundable deposit per camper per session is due at registration.
